Up and Down the Nut

The view down.
Taken at The Nut, Stanley, Tasmania.
24/09/2011

The hike up the Nut was rather intense.
Such a steep terrain up, although it is not a long route.
The view up there was okay. Not very worthy of the hike.
If you compare it to the Wineglass Bay hiking route that is.
But it as great exercise, and doing the hike with a couple of friends,
it's all good fun.

For visiting tourists/travellers,
you don't have to hike up if you are not particularly keen.
If you insist on seeing what's up there, take the $5/trip of chairlift up, and then walk down.
Taking the chairlift up gives you a panorama view (almost),
walking down provides you the good view of the sunset and the township.

If you want to show you've been to Stanley and seen the Nut,
Just drive around and take pictures of the damn thing from different angles (from a distance).
Those are the money-shot-angle you can find on all the postcards anyway.
